SOCIETA' CAPITANI E MACCHINISTI NAVALI - CAMOGLI

Si è celebrato anche quest'anno, il tradizionale appuntamento con coloro che si sono diplomati cinquant'anni fa all'Istituto Nautico di Camogli. Come di consueto, i festeggiamenti sono stati organizzati dalla Società Capitani e Macchinisti Navali.

L'agenda ha previsto l'incontro dei Soci, alle 9 presso la Sede di Via XX Settembre, la visita, alle 10 all'Istituto Nautico, la Santa Messa alle 11, nel Santuario del Boschetto e la riunione conviviale alle 12 nel ristorante dell'Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi. Durante la visita al Nautico, i due studenti più meritevoli delle sezioni Perito Trasporti Marittimi (Raffo) e Perito di Apparati ed Impianti Marittimi (Paltrinieri) sono stati premiati da due ex-colleghi di cinquant'anni prima con un attestato della Società Capitani e Macchinisti Navali di Camogli, la tessera onoraria ed il distintivo sociale. Successivamente, in occasione del pranzo conviviale, tutti i diplomati del 1957 sono stati premiati dal Presidente Salomone con la medaglia-ciondolo della Società e l'attestato coi nomi dei diplomandi delle due classi studentesche.

L'occasione della manifestazione degli ex-studenti comporta altre cerimonie: tra coloro che celebravano i 50 anni di diploma, c'era anche il camogliese GioBatta Repetto, che per 35 anni è stato Comandante della Compagnia di navigazione "Grimaldi" di Napoli, al quale, al termine ella manifestazione, sono state consegnate le medaglie delle navi che ha comandato: "Grande Nigeria", "Grande Scandinavia" e "Repubblica di Genova"

Also this year, the traditional meeting with those students that were graduated 50 years ago, has been celebrated at the Nautical School of Camogli. As usual,all the festivities have been organized by the Society of Sea Captains and naval Engineers of Camogli.

Indeed since 1975, centenary of its foundation, a commitee was built so as to propose to the Society to organize on a yearly base the celebration of the 50 yeard of graduation and, during the same occasion, the "medal of the centenaryl" was issued and today is still requested by the students and by the Members, so proud to have been graduated at the prestigious school..

Since then, the celebration is held each month of May along with a quite good number of partecipants. Sometimes is difficult to track those ex-students who left Camogli and went to live in other locations, but each time we can say that our research is successful.

On the day of the ceremony, we meet there not only students, but also Authorities, Members, their families and friends.

On the last May 21st, on the agenda there was the meeting of the Members at 9 a.m., at the Office of the Society located in XX Settembre Street; at 10 a.m. the visit to the Nautical School; at 11 a.m., the Holy Mass, at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Boschetto and at 12 noon, the convivial lunch at the restaurant of the Cenobio dei Dogi Hotel.

The celebration of the cinquantenary of graduation includes other ceremonies: besides the other ex-students, there was also Capt. Gio Batta Repetto from Camogli, who, for 35 years has been employed as Master of the shipping company from Naples, Grimaldi. At the end of the celebration, he was given the medals of the ships under his command: "Grande Nigeria", "Grande Scandinavia" and "Repubblica di Genova".
