Ecco il primo medaglione che riguarda uno dei più illustri Capitani ed Armatori Camogliesi. Capitan Bertolotto continuò la sua erudizione anche dopo l'età degli affari. Figura formidabile di persona completa ed ingegnosa che senz'altro rappresenta una delle più illuminate realtà della storia camogliese. Here is the first locket which regards one of the most illustrious Captains and Shipowners from Camogli. Captain Bertolotto continued his education even after retirement. Formidable character, a complete and ingenious person, who represents with no doubts one of the most illuminated aspects of the Camogliese history.
1818 = Nasce in località Fontanella a Camogli da Capitan Michele e Maria Roncagliolo 1828 = Imbarcato/abilitato come Mozzo ( a dieci anni...) 1843 = Ottiene Patente di Capitano L.C. 1844 = Al comando del brigantino "Principe Eugenio" 1845 = Al comando del brigantino "Ausonia 1848 = Diviene Armatore e comanda il brigantino "Laura" - Effettua vari anni di navigazione in Mar Nero e Mediterraneo Orientale 1854 = Termina il servizio in mare e si dedica alla vita pubblica di Camogli. Fa parte del Consiglio Comunale e partecipa a varie iniziative per il benessere della Città 1863 = Nominato Primo Maestro della Scuola Nautica a Recco. Insegna quindi anche alla Scuola Nautica di Camogli, Astronomia e Navigazione 1877 = Nominato Cavaliere della Corona d'Italia 1897 = A riposo, continua ad insegnare 1907 = Muore serenamente nella sua casa del Boschetto

1818 = He is born at Fontanella quarter at Camogli from Captain Michele and Maria Roncagliolo 1828 = Signed on/certified as Deck Boy( at 10 years old...) 1843 = He obtains the Captain's license 1844 = He takes over the command of the brig "Principe Eugenio" 1845 = He takes over the command of the brig "Ausonia 1848 = He becomes Shipwoner and takes over the command of the brig "Laura" - He serves for various years at sea, in the Black Sea and Western Mediterranean 1854 = He completes the sea service and he is gettinge involved in the social life of Camogli. He is a member of the City Council and he participate to various initiatives for the City welfare 1863 = He is named First Teacher of the Nautical School at Recco. He teaches right after, Navigation and Astronomy, to the Nautical School of Camogli 1877 = Named Knight of the Italian Crown 1897 = Retired, he keeps teaching 1907 = He dies peacefully at his house at the Boschetto neighbours |
